The Piney Hills Harmony Chorus of Sweet Adelines International is a membership organization of female singers, who meet regularly to practice, perform, socialize and have fun. We currently have around 30 singers of all ages, from all walks of life and from all parts of North Louisiana, from Shreveport to Sterlington!
Along with preserving a distinctive American art form, the main purpose of Piney Hills Harmony Chorus is to get out and sing for our community. We sing at our annual show, at conferences, at a number of community events and at our annual regional competition. Some of our quartets also perform Singing Telegrams around Valentine's Day and Mother's Day. We are available to sing at your next function. If you're looking for a unique musical experience to liven up your event, please check out our Hire Us section.
In addition to sharing our music with others, another great passion of ours is learning more about the art of a cappella singing in the barbershop style. Vocal instruction is a regular part of chorus rehearsals and a very important component of the chorus experience. A couple of times a year, we get coaching from a visiting master in the art of barbershop, where we learn many fabulous tricks of the trade. And each June, we gain a wealth of knowledge from some of the world's best a cappella instructors at our regional Summer Music Camp, held in Denton, Texas.

In the spring of every year, Piney Hills Harmony
Chorus participates in the Region 25 chorus competition in
Richardson, Texas (near Dallas). Competitions are a special time for quartets and choruses from our region to come together to sing for each other and get some constructive feedback from a panel of judges. The winners of the regional competition in both quartet and chorus categories get to travel to International Competition, which is held in the fall in a city selected each year. In 2011, International Competition will be held in Houston.
