Got Questions?
How much personal time will it take? In addition to weekly rehearsals throughout the year, there is one annual show in November, December or January. We also participate in a Sweet Adelines regional competition in March or April each year and have an annual weekend retreat to focus on preparing for competition. We perform in and around our area about 4-6 times per year for local festivals, business events, charitable events, as well as participating in Christmas and arts festival events. Region 25 also offers opportunities for education, such as Summer Music Camp and Quartet Retreat, where members can learn more about the art of barbershop harmony.
What is the cost? Our monthly dues are $22. There is also a one-time membership fee of approximately $100 that is paid when you join. We allow new members to pay this fee in installments. There will be additional expenses such as makeup, shoes, and accessories that members purchase for our shows and competition. Competing members will also have expenses such as hotel rooms and food. However, we try to be as budget-friendly as possible, so don't let a lack of finances prevent you from joining us!
What is the audition procedure?
Do I have to be a great singer? No! It certainly will help you if you have a good "ear" for music and harmony! But you don't have to know how to read music or be an educated singer to be a part of our chorus. If you love singing, like to perform, and can control your voice to sing on pitch, then you would be perfect for our chorus!
How do I learn the songs? We provide learning tracks for our songs along with sheet music. The learning tracks enable you to listen to your own part as well as the other harmony parts. We will go over these songs during rehearsal and sectional rehearsals.

Potential members will learn a song from our repertoire and will sing the song (without using the sheet music) into a tape recorder or digital recorder. The Music Staff will listen to the recording to determine whether the potential member has sung the correct notes and words. Potential members have three chances to "pass" the song with correct notes and words. If she does not pass the song after three tries, we ask the potential member to work on the song on her own and try out again in six months.
